Regional Diversity: The “Beyond Tehran” Approach

These documentaries were produced across seven provinces, including Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Razavi Khorasan, Yazd, Golestan, Sistan and Baluchestan, and Tehran.

Locally Driven Productions

Among the selected films, six were entirely produced by local filmmakers, emphasizing Soureh’s dedication to:

  • Decentralizing filmmaking from Tehran,
  • Promoting national identity and local ecosystems, and
  • Utilizing the skills of young and talented regional filmmakers.

This approach underscores Soureh’s commitment to enriching Iran’s documentary cinema by showcasing diverse voices and untapped regional narratives.
