The feature film “In the Arms of the Tree” directed by Babak Khajeh Pasha and produced by Mohammad Reza Mesbah and Sajad Nasrallahi Nasab, continuing its international success, won the Best Feature Film award at the Muslim International Film Festival in Canada.
The sixth edition of this festival was held from October 10 to 13, 2025 (18 to 21 Mehr 1404) in Canada.
Founded with the aim of creating a platform for Muslim artists and audiences in the global film industry, the festival has been hosting filmmakers and enthusiasts from around the world in Toronto since 2019, celebrating bold and authentic storytelling in film.
“In the Arms of the Tree”, which had already garnered significant attention from critics and audiences at both domestic and international festivals, once again proved the ability of Iranian cinema to create impactful and competitive works on the global stage with this award. The film’s story, which delicately and humanely addresses family and social issues, has captivated international audiences and jurors through its powerful narrative and the artistic direction of Babak Khajeh Pasha.
This film had already gained attention at various domestic and international festivals and has won multiple awards.
“In the Arms of the Tree” is a joint production of the Soureh Cinematic Organization and the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, and its international distribution is managed by the Soureh International Center
