“In the Arms of the Tree” Wins Best Feature Film at the Chennai International Film Festival

The feature film “In the Arms of the Tree”, directed by Babak Khajeh Pasha and produced by Sajad Nasrollahi Nasab and Mohammadreza Mesbah, has won the title of Best Feature Film at the 22nd Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) in India.

The Chennai International Film Festival, held in the city of Chennai, India, is organized by the Cinema Society, the Indian Cinema Appreciation Foundation, with the support of the Tamil Nadu government, the South India Chamber of Film Commerce, and the Federation of Indian Films. The festival’s goals include fostering cultural understanding among nations, promoting cinema’s artistic excellence, and encouraging friendship and collaboration between people worldwide.

Over 100 international feature films from more than 60 countries competed at the festival.

The 22nd edition of the Chennai International Film Festival took place from December 12 to 19, 2024.

In the Arms of the Tree has already participated in several international film festivals, recently winning the Special Jury Award at the Asian World Film Festival. The film was also chosen as Iran’s official entry for the 2025 Academy Awards.

The international distribution of In the Arms of the Tree is handled by the Soureh International Center.
