About Projectionist

The film Aparatchi narrates the adventures of a cinema-loving building painter who has successfully produced several short films and dreams of making his first feature film. The synopsis reads: “Altfat is the assistant director… Altfat is the sander… Bayram is the cameraman… Shahbaz is the undercoater… Shahbaz is the actor… Ayub is the ceiling painter… Ayub is the production manager… Jalil, however, is the one who applies the final coat of paint… He is obsessed and has to paint each wall three times… Why? Because Jalil is the director… Now this group wants to make their first feature film… But Haider, Jalil’s father, doesn’t want his son to get bogged down in the cinema business…”
